Bull riding and steer wrestling fans who look forward to the annual Lakeshore Stampede Rodeo down in the resort village of Elbow every summer will have to wait another year to take in the popular event.

Organizers took to social media this past week to announce that the rodeo will not take place this July as scheduled due to the continued uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Joanne Brochu of the rodeo committee writes:

“It is with great disappointment that we have to announce the LSRC 25th Anniversary Rodeo will be postponed until 2021. Although we are unsure yet what phase we will be in come July, our Committee felt this was the responsible decision to make in protecting our Community. We extend our Thanks to all our Sponsors, Spectators, and Contractors. To our Sponsors we will be in touch with you. We wish everyone an enjoyable and safe summer season.”
