Pool Fundraising Meter Reaches the Top

Goal reached by dedicated group & community

Submitted by Tony Peter of the Swimming Pool Fundraising Committee:

WE DID IT!

Yes, we did.  The Swimming Pool Fundraising Committee wants you to know that on July 1, the first day of swimming, the community of Outlook had raised $1,501,782.38 for the new pool.  This was the original goal the committee had set in 2014 when we looked into building a new pool.  This committee wants to thank all who helped us reach this milestone – donors, canvassers, businesses, Elementary and High School students, craftsmen and the list goes on.

The fundraising meter tracking the progress of donations for Outlook's new swimming pool facility, which was installed at the Outlook Post Office, has been filled. - Tony Peter

Since July 1, we’ve had two significant donations from businesses that worked on the facility.  You will hear more about that after next month.

The pool is not fully funded (took longer to build than planned, better quality materials used, unforeseen changes and needs) so this is an appeal to everyone to be generous, come forward and make a donation.  It is a beautiful facility that makes Outlook proud, now and will in the future.  If you haven’t used it yet, go out and do so.  You’ll be amazed.

After five and a half years this committee will be winding down its efforts.  We reached our target.  The Town of Outlook has a fantastic swimming pool for less than twenty-five percent of the cost.

This committee wishes to express our pleasure in being to serve the community we love and to help provide a lasting legacy for future generations.  So for the last time we say, “Make a splash, drop some cash.”
