Multiple groups have been busy combing the waters of Lake Diefenbaker for a suspected drowning victim, as first reported by The Outlook on Friday afternoon, August 21.

Elbow RCMP, Outlook RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP Underwater Recovery Team were searching the lake today from 10 am to 5 pm for a 35-year old male who went missing in the water.

Police received a call of a possible drowning in the lake after a male and female had gone swimming.  The woman had made it back to shore and could not locate her swimming companion in the water or on the shore.  He was reportedly last seen in the Danielson Provincial Park area.

Unfortunately, the male has not been located at this time.  The search efforts had to be suspended for the day due to bad weather, and they will resume on Sunday morning.
