Enbridge Donates Around the Area

Company continues giving in Line 3 communities

Representatives from Enbridge were on hand last week in a number of villages in the regional area and dispersing major funds that will be a huge help to community projects and organizations.

On Wednesday, September 20, reps from Enbridge including Ferlin Koma (Senior Construction Specialist), Dan Tischler (Supervisor of Area Operations), Joanne Bradbury and Peter Hansen (Community Engagement) were in Milden and presented the village with a cheque for $15,000, which will be used to upgrade two community spaces that are overseen by volunteers; the ‘Go-Pher a Walk’ trail, which loops around the entire village, will receive a new iron bench, metal gazebo, flag pole, cement pads and landscaping, and additional funds will go toward improvements to the Milden Memorial Garden.

Showing its appreciation for the funds, the village welcomed the Enbridge reps and took them on an ATV tour of the walking trail, and hosted a special community supper of smoked ham, corn and potato salad that was complemented by an Enbridge-centric cake that was adorned with the company colors.

“I’m from a small town and I’m totally impressed with how many volunteers you have in such a small community,” Koma told the crowd.  “Hats off to you people for all the hard work that you do.  I’m privileged that we’re able to support your community through Enbridge.”

The next day, Tischler and Bradbury were on hand in Conquest at the Community Centre (formerly Conquest School) to present two cheques to community representatives.  One amount was for $5000 to the Village that will help benefit the local village museum, while the other was for $7500 to the Conquest Fire Department for the purchase of new breathing apparatuses.

Afterward, coffee was served and Enbridge reps enjoyed checking out the museum and speaking with village residents about the Line 3 Replacement Program, which is coming along at a brisk pace and everything on track.

These donations by Enbridge represent part of the approximate $600,000 that the company is investing in active construction communities affected by the Line 3 project.
