New Pool: Charity Auction Set for April

Fundraising continues for new swimming pool facility

We have raised over $1,350,000. We want to thank Ontario Dehy Inc. (Elcan) for $5000, Royal Bank of Canada for $3000, the Outlook Chamber of Commerce for $2700 and Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation for $25,000. This help is greatly appreciated.

A special thanks to the Chabot lemonade stand that brought in $160.15. It’s so nice to see our young community members involved. Thanks to the One of a Kind Craft sale for your support of $620 and to Royce Taylor for barbecuing burgers for the baseball games with part of the proceeds going to the pool. There are many ways to help and everyone is encouraged to come up with unique ways of being involved.

The floor of the beach entry has been poured, the apron is being built and the change room has been framed out ready for the metal roof to be installed. The Frog slide will be delivered soon and all the slides erected. The sidewalks and paving stones have been selected and a supplier will be contracted. We can expect the pool to be filled with water by fall for testing.

We need $450,000. We urge everyone to consider how this can be raised because it is our pool and it is our community which will benefit from it. Now’s the time to step up and help. The Fundraising Committee is planning a charity evening and auction sale for April 5, 2019. Please keep this date in mind. More details will be available as plans come together. Please volunteer your time and resources in making this the finale of the Fundraising blitz for this facility. Be part of the action and show how much you love this community. We want to have a forward-looking and proud Outlook.
