UPDATE - Woman charged with manslaughter in Milden death

On Friday afternoon, March 5, Saskatchewan RCMP confirmed the details of a death that took place in the village of Milden, located rougly 30 km west of Outlook.

The Saskatchewan RCMP have confirmed that Melissa Mac Queen of Milden has been charged with one count of Manslaughter.  [section 236(b) of the Criminal Code]

These charges stem from the death of 61-year-old Randy Garrett, also of Milden.  The RCMP responded to a call after Mr. Garrett was found in his home on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 3.

Ms. Mac Queen (also found to be spelled Macqueen) is scheduled to make her first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday, March 8 at 9:00 am.

The original media release from Thursday, March 4 stated the following:

Outlook RCMP, the RCMP Major Crime Unit South, the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the Office of the Chief Coroner are investigating a death in the community of Milden, SK.

On March 3, 2021 around 1:30 p.m. Outlook RCMP responded to a complaint of a deceased 61-year-old male inside a residence on the 700 block of Saskatchewan Avenue in Milden. His family has been notified and we will not be providing further identification at this time. An autopsy will take place today.

The circumstances surrounding the death continue to be investigated. Residents of Milden will continue to see an increased police presence in the community as a result of the ongoing investigation.
