S.A.C.L. Yellow Bins

On behalf of the Saskatchewan Association for Community Living Outlook Branch Inc., I wish to assure the residents of Outlook and area that donations of clothing, even throughout the Covid 19 pandemic, may always be placed in our yellow bins which are located in various places in the Town of Outlook.  Miscellaneous articles placed in boxes or bags may be taken to (Byrdie’s garage) located at 100 Semple Street.  Our SACL trucks come into Outlook every three weeks to empty our bins, as well as Byrdie’s garage - last pick up was Wednesday February 10.  For the time being, these donations are held in storage until they are sold to Value Village and our Branch will receive commissions.  Our Drive last October was our best Drive in the history of this Branch. Thank you for your support. Take care and stay safe.

Not the right time for election

Recently, a group of Liberal back-room boys have started running negative attack ads against Conservative leader Erin O’Toole. This is the latest of many hints that the Liberals are gearing up to call a federal election this spring.

Although my Conservative colleagues and I are eager to hold the Trudeau government to account, we feel that calling a premature election in the midst of a pandemic is perhaps the most shocking and crass example of political opportunism in Canadian history.

An election at this time would throw the country into disarray at precisely the time that we need consistency in government. It would mean that, in the midst of the vaccine roll-out, the country would be without political leadership for over a month. It is absolutely shameful that Justin Trudeau would place his own political fortunes ahead of the health and safety of Canadians.

There is no valid reason for an election at this time. The minority government has not been an obstacle to effective pandemic policy, and, in fact, the opposition parties have been constructively cooperative with that effort. Trudeau is grasping for more power for power’s sake and appears not to care how much damage he causes to the country in doing so.

When the pandemic is over, the Conservative Party looks forward to holding the Liberals to account for their haphazard and ineffective spending, the WE scandal and the botched vaccine roll-out. But until that time, our country needs stability, not power-lust.
