The LCBI Lady Bisons basketball team hosted their 39th annual home tournament on January 12 & 13, welcoming seven other teams from around the province to participate in the action; the Outlook Blues, the Fillmore Falcons, the Macklin Sabres, the Assiniboia Rockets, the North Battleford John Paul II Crusaders, the Moose Jaw Cornerstone Falcons, and the Biggar Blazers.
Though both local teams played with passion and showed off some impressive court skills, it was the visiting rosters that would end up dominating the spotlight and advance during the tournament.
The hosting Lady Bisons found themselves playing the Macklin Sabres for 7th Place on Saturday afternoon, but were defeated in a close game at a score of 47-39. The Outlook Blues were matched in the Consolation game against the Biggar Blazers, but were unable to get the win, with the Blazers winning at a score of 53-34.
The winning team of the Lady Bisons home tournament wound up being North Battleford, winning over Assiniboia at a score of 64-40.
