Volleyball Player Signs with Medicine Hat

Evans signs letter of intent to play next fall

A gifted local athlete is looking ahead to his future well ahead of graduation after making his intentions known to an Alberta college.

KeAndre Evans, a grade 12 student at Outlook High School, is arguably a phenom on the volleyball court, and his skills have grabbed the attention of a number of post-secondary schools vying for someone of his caliber to join their rosters.

On December 22, the social media page of the Medicine Hat Rattlers announced that Evans had signed a letter of intent to play for the team for the 2018-19 volleyball season.

From the Rattlers’ Facebook page:

“Rattler Nation!!!  Your @mhc_rattlers men's volleyball team has received a great Christmas gift and a joyous start to the New Year with the signing of a Letter of Intent by KeAndre Evans from Outlook, Saskatchewan for the 2018-19 volleyball season.  KeAndre at 6'3.5" is a multi-sport athlete who excels in volleyball, football, track and field, and hockey.  He played Outside Hitter for the Husky Volleyball Club U18 team as a 16-year old last season and has represented Team Sask on a tour in Japan.  At a recent recruitment camp, KeAndre impressed everyone when he touched 11'8" on his spike touch.  Head Coach, Mark Porter, identified KeAndre as the best athlete in 2018 Graduating Class and the number 1 priority recruit for Rattlers volleyball.  KeAndre plans to study Kinesiology at MHC.  Medicine Hat College and the MHC Rattlers men's volleyball team welcomes KeAndre and his family to Rattler Nation.”

Evans will graduate from Outlook High School this coming June.
